GED preparation classes in the area of Math, Reading, and Writing are offered in the morning and evening, twice a week. A FREE placement exam is given Monday thru Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. DAC is a program designed to recapture students who did not complete graduation requirements.
Parents of children attending Southlawn, San Jacinto and Whittier Elementary Schools are eligible for free GED classes on the elementary school campus. Panhandle Community Services is a non-profit based in Amarillo, which provides assistance to families and individuals with a wide variety of programs throughout the Panhandle. Among these are educationally-driven self sufficiency programs to help Panhandle residents move out of poverty.
